About Lia DeLand

Lia DeLand has been working with trauma survivors, artists, and those interested in spiritual growth for over twenty years. She uses Internal Family Systems therapy, breathwork, meditation, energy work, art, and sound (drums, bowls, gongs, and voice) to clear the obstacles to inner peace, strength, and harmony. She is a passionate explorer of cultures, spiritual practices, and wild places.

Lia is a Licensed Clinical Mental Healt Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She holds a Master’s of Science degree (with Distinction) in Psychology with a Counseling concentration. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Stanford University. She has received training in Internal Family Systems Therapy, Sound Healing, Brainspotting, hypnotherapy, Reiki, Heart Assisted Therapy, neurotherapy, hospice work, and meditative practices. She has a special interest in providing a safe and supportive space for the LBGTQ community.

She works with adults, adolescents, and couples. In addition to maintaining an ongoing private practice, Lia has worked in community counseling clinics, Juvenile Hall, a college counseling center, Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Center, and a therapeutic boarding school for adolescents.
